Square Enix is celebrating its 25th Year Anniversary in 2023 and we are seeing more Final Fantasy games in 2023. Here are some of the games to expect:
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion
This is to be released in 2022 and not 2023 in fact it's today. CRISIS CORE -FINAL FANTASY VII- REUNION is a remaster of CRISIS CORE featuring updated graphics, combat systems and soundtrack. Follow the tale of SOLDIER operative Zack Fair, as he discovers the secrets of Shinra's dark experiments.
Final Fantasy XVI
Coming June 22, 2023, this will be the next installment to the already very long series of franchise games with the same title. The sixteenth main installment in the Final Fantasy series, it is scheduled for release in 2023 for the PlayStation 5 as a timed exclusive. The game will feature segmented open environments and an action-based combat system involving both melee and magic-based attacks. There are also recurring series features including Chocobos and summoned monsters called Eikons which are both fought as bosses and used through channeling their power in combat.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second part of the three-part "Final Fantasy VII remake project", whose goal is to remake the 1997 RPG Final Fantasy VII. The game follows Final Fantasy VII Remake and is the second of three parts, set to be released winter 2023 for the PlayStation 5.
The only platform Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is confirmed to launch on is PS5. While Final Fantasy 7 Remake did originally release on PS4, it would appear that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is skipping the platform entirely as Square Enix focuses its efforts on the new generation of consoles.
There are more reasons to really switch from PS4 to PS5 this 2023. It seems like the new game release will be focusing on PS5 and abandoning the PS4. I am wondering when will these game console creators consider just having an upgrade kit for an old console so that it can better avoid electronic waste?
Other games to be released by Square Enix in 2023 include Thetrythm Final Bar Line, Forspoken, and Octopath Traveler 2.
