SM MALLS MARKS 123RD PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH FREEDOM HUES, PINOYPRENEUR

Red, blue, white, and yellow are not only hues but also symbol of Philippine sovereignty and solidarity. 

Giving tribute and homage to 123rd Philippine Independence, SM Bulacan Malls in Marilao, Pulilan, Baliwag, and San Jose Del Monte commemorate it with special freedom hues trimmings displayed around the malls. These trimmings are inspired by threads from the looms of indigenous people from which artisan textiles are woven. 

Minding social distancing, flag ceremony takes a great meaning at SM City Marilao as employees and frontliners stand in solitude to honor the past and modern day heroes who continue to serve the public in time of crisis. Joining the flag ceremony are Marilao Mayor Ricardo Silvestre, Marilao Vice Mayor Henry Lutao and PNP Marilao. 



“The freedom hues trimmings remind us of our resiliency as Filipino especially during these challenging times; these threads may stretch or tangle but will never break” says SM City Marilao Mall Manager Emmanuel Gatmaitan. “It also stands as a symbolic display of Philippine independence and unity that binds the Filipino people” Engr. Gatmaitan added. 

SM City Marilao gives tribute and homage to 123rd Philippine Independence with colorful mall atrium freedom hues trimmings and #Pinoypreneur campaign. Bazaars for Filipinos by Filipinos are open all throughout the month to help shoppers find, discover, and support MSMEs and local businesses in the mall.  

SM City Baliwag’s Pinoypreneur gives “kainan sa bukid” a modern twist, as it showcases wide range of food and goodies that are proudly Pinoy. The selling attraction exudes Pinoy food fiesta feels embellished with buntal that are uniquely Baliwag. The capiz window for the arch, dried anahaw furbishing, bamboo texture for the carts plus the pugad lights with vines complete the set up’s modern Filipino vibe. 



For Filipinos by Filipinos, SM Malls in Bulacan encourage shoppers to patronize and to buy local with the #Pinoypreneur campaign. This campaign aims to help businesses, especially Filipino brands and homegrown Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), who have been greatly affected by the pandemic. The #Pinoypreneur is rolled out all throughout the month to help shoppers find, discover, and support MSMEs and local businesses in the malls.  

“We believe that supporting our own MSMEs makes us all heroes. Buying from them helps local businesses bounce back, especially in these trying times” says SM Center Pulilan Assistant Mall Manager Alvin De Galicia. 

SM City Baliwag commemorates Independence Day with a flag raising ceremony followed by series of cultural display of talents witnessed by mall employees, tenants, community and LGU partners.

SM Center Pulilan gathers Bulacan’s best brands on food and delicacies, such as Malolos’ Citang’s, Plaridel’s Bibingka ni Ka Rick and other local players all in one venue. 



Apart from the #Pinoypreneur campaign, SM Bulacan Malls in Marilao, Pulilan, Baliwag and San Jose Del Monte are also encouraging shoppers to be a hero by registering at their respective LGU websites to get vaccinated. With the recent partnership with LGU, SM hopes to speed up vaccination roll out in the province as malls in Bulacan open its doors for inoculation to provide convenient, safe, and accessible venue for the community. 

“We can also be a hero by being vaccinated. That way, we can protect not just ourselves, but also our families and the economy” shares SM City San Jose del Monte’s Assistant Mall Manager Maria Angeli Luna.

Locally made products and delicacies are displayed at the ‘PINOY-PRENEURS’ bazaar located at the upper ground floor of SM City San Jose del Monte. Customers can also take a picture with “Tatak-Pinoy” decorations.

 SM City San Jose del Monte welcomes shoppers with the city’s acronym that signifies the Philippine Flag as it is covered in color of red, blue, white, and yellow. 



SM Bulacan Malls in Marilao, San Jose Del Monte, Baliwag and Pulilan likewise paid tribute to past and modern day heroes as it commemorate the 123rd Philippine Independence Day yesterday with a solemn flag ceremony.
