In the glow of parols and the echo of applause, ISKOLARIS 2025 reminds every Iskolar ng Bayan that your light is part of the nation’s future. As the campus prepares for this year-end celebration, students, faculty, and organizers come together not only to share joy and tradition but to strengthen the collective resolve of the Iskolar ng Bayan.
ISKOLARIS 2025 goes beyond holiday cheer. It highlights the stories of students who volunteer, persevere, and lead while continuing to fight for accessible and inclusive education. Their experiences reflect the realities faced by many Filipino communities and keep the celebration rooted in solidarity, purpose, and reflection. From the long history of labor movements seen every Mayo Uno, to the annual September 21 Martial Law commemoration that honors the courage of those who resisted dictatorship, the Iskolar ng Bayan has always stood on the side of justice. More recently, the nationwide walkout on October 10 and the mobilizations for International Students’ Day on November 17 reaffirmed the refusal of students to accept corruption, repression, and the chronic underfunding of public education.
Now more than ever, as parols brighten the campus, the demands of the Iskolar ng Bayan continue with greater clarity. Higher budgets for State Universities and Colleges. Protection of academic freedom and the right to organize. Defense of press freedom. Transparency and accountability from public officials. A commitment to end corruption and misuse of public funds. Each light in ISKOLARIS 2025 becomes a symbol of hope and shared responsibility, a reminder that every student voice adds strength to a movement building toward a better future for all.
As said by the overall director, Mx. Deniel Tolentino, “Iskolaris 2025 is more than a holiday celebration, it’s a tribute to every victory the Iskolars ng Bayan won this year and a reminder of our duty to the wide Filipino masses. This year, as we honor care and solidarity, we also stand firm in our fight. Ngayong Pasko, magkakaisa tayong patalsikin ang korap at pasistang Marcos-Duterte kasama ang lahat ng sangkot sa korapsyon.” It prompts for a celebration that focuses not only on achievements, but also the struggles and fights we continue to do as Iskolars ng Bayan.
Students from various colleges and organizations join together, forming a living portrait of bayanihan. Every collaborative effort becomes a reminder that joy and militancy coexist in the Iskolar ng Bayan.
For many, Iskolaris 2025 is a space to reflect on the year’s struggles and victories, to strengthen bonds with peers, and to renew the commitment to the community and the nation. It reminds every scholar that the fight for a just and equitable society continues, even in moments of celebration.
We invite every Iskolar ng Bayan to stand with us—bringing hope, courage, and the collective fight for genuine change into the days ahead.
