Tempura Japanese Grill Aims to be Best Tempura in Manila

Tempura, according to our dear friend Wikipedia  (天ぷら or 天麩羅 tenpura?) is a Japanese dish of seafood or vegetables that have been battered and deep fried.  I am not so much into Tempura actually since most of the time food like these are expensive and beyond my budget, however, that changes when I met Tempura Japanese Grill, Manila's Best Tempura.

Before I even get to taste their famous Tempura, I was asked what I would like to drink and as I look at the menu I can't help but asked to try the Japanese Sake (Php 330.00/bottle).  It is rare in foodie meetups that I get a chance to rally try a sake so I tried one this time.  Mind you, the taste was mild but the effects are really surprising.  One bottle of Sake is enough for 2 people.

Now let;s go to the Tempuras that they served.  MY favorite among them is the SOFT SHELL CRAB TEMPURA (Php325.00) simply because I hate eating crabs because I have a hard time removing the shell but this one you just eat it and all is crunchy.

Other great tempura which I was able to experience were HOKKAIDO GIANT OYSTER TEMPURA (Php285.00), JAPANESE SEA SCALLOPS TEMPURA (P360.00) and the start of the tempura kingdom - their Premium Tenpura, the KING-SIZE PRAWN TEMPURA (Php250 for 1 piece and Php480 for 2 pieces).  I really love the taste of their premium tempura not only because it is big but also because it is crunchy and easy to eat.

They did prove to be Manila's best tempura since they are making sure that their ingredients are fresh and authentic and they observe very strict quality control when it comes to every dish that they serve.

Next, I tried their CUCUMBER MINT (Php90.00) and wow it was very minty indeed.  It has the unique flavor which makes this the best cucumber mint I tasted so far, though for some they might not like it because of the increased mint in the taste.

For dessert, don't forget to try their MOLTEN LAVA CAKE and their GREEN TEA ICE CREAM.  These 2 desserts will really fulfill your craving and complete your meal at Tempura Japanese Grill.

We were also given a very good rice with sidings which includes the famous "dilis", sorry if I forgot the name in English.  It was so delicious that you would forget your name.  I really want to try these again.

How about the venue?  Well, they say that they will be undergoing major renovation soon but as far as I am concerned I am satisfied with Tempura Japanese Grill Banawe branch and I highly recommend this for those who are looking for great Japanese tempura.

Tempura Japanese Grill Banawe is located at 77 Scout Alcaraz Corner Banawe Street, Sienna, Quezon City an they are open from 10AM - 10PM.
