Why is Kamuning Bakery conducting this?
As part of 3rd #WorldPandesalDay celebration for October 16 and whole month as PANDESAL MONTH, Kamuning Bakery Cafe is hosting its second medical, dental & optical mission this month on Oct. 29 Sunday 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The first successful medical and dental mission was held last October 8 Sunday in cooperation with Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII). On Oct. 16 World Pandesal Day, Kamuning Bakery Cafe gave away Free 50,000 pugon-baked pandesal breads, Mega sardines, King Sue hams, Fly Ace & Hobe noodles, OK Koolers juices to urban poor families with presence & help by Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Vice-President Leni Robredo, PNP chief Gen. Bato Dela Rosa & Quezon City police chief Guillermo Eleazar. Thanks many messages of support from President Rody Duterte, ex-Senator Bongbong Marcos, GMA Network, Inc. CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon, Abs-CBN Broadcasting Corp. CEO Carlo Katigbak and many others. .
Why all these civic projects of Kamuning Bakery?
Kamuning Bakery Cafe wants to do these charities as thanksgiving for public support since 1939, the management led by writer and realty entrepreneur Wilson Lee Flores was inspired by Bible story of miracle of a boy with only 5 loaves of bread & 2 fishes, which were multiplied by faith to feed over 5,000 people, he was also inspired by old Chinese proverb on giving back to society.
Ever since Wilson Lee Flores acquired and revived this pioneer bakery, 100% profits of the bakery are also devoted for charities, mainly in education (like donating public schools for poor rural areas) & cultural causes (like non-partisan Pandesal Forum with media on national or global issues), etc.
