Miniso Opens 10th Branch at SM City Baliwag

Miniso, the Japanese designer brand is officially invading the country with the opening of its 10th branch – Miniso SM City Baliwag. After the success of its initial stores in Metro Manila they are now opening various stores in the provinces. They specializes in household and consumer goods including cosmetics, stationary, toys, kitchenware, and gadgets. If you will visit their store you will find unique items that you might not have seen before.

Miniso is co-founded in 2011 by Japanese designer Junya Miyake and Chinese entrepreneur Ye Guo Fu. The company is headquartered in Guangzhou, China. There were criticisms of its branding since they are actually Chinese retailers that had been marketing themselves as Japanese but the fact is they are just offering us their own rendition of Japanese inspired items which I do love as well. Currently, it operates more than 1,800 stores in Asia, Europe, North America and South America with a target to open 6,000 stores worldwide.

Miniso SM City Baliwag Opening

The opening of Miniso SM City Baliwag had been one of the most celebrated openings for the month of February. There was a band which serenaded mall goers as well as famous artists from GMA Network as the official endorsers of the brand. It also became one of the biggest independent retail outlets in SM City Baliwag.

Miniso SM City Baliwag opening began with a short blessing of the new store and then the traditional “sake” breaking. Municipal officials, SM City Baliwag representatives, and owners of Miniso headed the opening and blessing. The moment the retail store open there was already a huge deluge of people that went in and start buying the items on display.
